Zeemering Pet and Human Therapy Foundation

“Providing a place for people and animals to come together for their mutual health and growth; while preserving the pastures, ponds, wetlands, forests and farmland that enrich our lives and help heal the planet.”

"PRESERVE, RESTORE, ENRICH"

Located on a 90-acre horse farm in Livingston County, for over 30 years Ina Zeemering and volunteers have labored to create a unique blend of equine-oriented, natural environments centered on responsible, sustainable use and development of the land.

Until recently, most of this work has been a “well-kept secret” as far as the general public is concerned. But it’s had an impact on many hundreds of lives in the region. Ina and the Foundation have worked for the past 3 years to begin to “share the secret” and significantly grow the importance and use of these valuable acres.

About the Zeemering Foundation:

In 1999, Ina Zeemering, a retired Detroit lawyer and magistrate, began building a horse farm on 90 pristine acres in Oceola Twp., MI. The Zeemering Foundation, a 501(c) (3) non-profit, was founded in 2004 by Ina and farm volunteers, with these goals:

The Foundation has planned a sustainable future for 55 of its currently undeveloped acres, which will be placed in a trust for preservation in perpetuity to support the native ecosystem. It’s an important natural habitat for ducks, geese, Sandhill cranes, herons, egrets, and numerous other animals, and a breeding ground for fish, frogs, turtles and other species, some on the state endangered species or “species-watch” lists. This area also contains small ponds and wetlands, and hiking and bridle paths.
